Idea / Business Plan Pitch - NEW!

Submissions in this category may include multimedia packages that pitch an entrepreneurial idea, concept or business plan (social or commercial) that is for- or not-for-profit. Video packages should be created/framed as pitches to investors.
**Videos should not exceed 6 minutes in length.

Scoring Criteria: viability/feasibility of concept, communication of idea/concept, visual presentation/aesthetics, overall

Art & Photography

Submissions in this category may include digital art, photographs, photo essays, including picture enhancements such as HDR, etc.

Scoring Criteria: composition, subject/ content, technical elements (lighting, focus, etc), tone/style/theme, overall

Creative Animation

Submissions in this category may include video game design, character (avatar) animation, stop motion (classic) animation, etc. **Videos should not exceed 10 minutes in length; excerpts from longer animations are acceptable.

Scoring Criteria: story/content, technical elements, layout/design, visual composition, overall

Film & Video

Submissions in this category may include short & feature narrative, non-narrative experimental, documentary/nonfiction, trailers, etc. **Videos should not exceed 10 minutes in length; excerpts from longer films are acceptable.

Scoring Criteria: story, audio, cinematography, editing, overall

Informational & Promotional

Submissions in this category may include public relation and advertising campaigns materials, broadcast news segments, graphic design pieces, Web 2.0 pieces (podcasts, vlogs, websites, digital portfolios), etc.

Scoring Criteria: informative/persuasive (content, purpose), technical elements, layout/design/composition, aesthetic/artistic appeal, overall
Required Media Host/File Type: YouTube URL, Website URL, or Public Tigerbytes link to PDF

Technical & Scientific

Submissions in this category may include CAD drawings, technical drawings, 3-D models, scientific/engineering posters, visualizations, landscape/architectural/interior design drawings, etc.

Scoring Criteria: content/purpose, layout/design, technical elements, creativity, overall
Required Media Host/File Type: YouTube URL, Website URL, or Public Tigerbytes link to PDF

Academic / Extra-Curricular Gumbo

Submissions in this category may include any class assignments or extracurricular pieces that do not fall into one of the above categories, including digital music/audio, interactive multimedia presentations, service learning projects, etc.

Scoring Criteria: story/content, purpose/message, technical elements (appropriateness for course/objectives/ audience), format/structure, overall
Required Media Host/File Type: YouTube URL, Website URL, Public Tigerbytes link to PDF, or Flickr URL

Submission Rules

  • Participants must be currently enrolled at Louisiana State University and the work entered must be the sole and original work of the submitting LSU student(s).
  • Group projects may be submitted in any category and all participant names will be recognized; however, we cannot guarantee that the prize awarded will be suitable for sharing amongst the group.
  • LSU students may submit work created or significantly revised within 12 months of the entry deadline.
  • Participants may submit only 1 entry per category. You may enter different pieces of work in as many categories as you’d like.
  • All entries must be submitted as a public URL using the required media host/file type (see category descriptions for requirements).
  • There is no submission fee.
  • Submissions must be entered via this website by Noon, CST on Wednesday, February 29, 2012.
  • Participants maintain the rights to their submitted work; however, LSU reserves the right to use any submissions in LSU‐related promotional materials.
  • LSU CxC reserves the right to disqualify any questionable entries.
